How It Started
Hi, I’m Sara, Owner and Chandler of Slow Burn candles. Slow Burn began as a deeply personal mindfulness practice—a way for me to slow down, reconnect, and create something meaningful with my own hands. What started as a meditative outlet has grown into a thriving business rooted in intention, craft, and connection.
As a full-time yoga teacher, I spent years hustling between classes, navigating a fast-paced world that left little room for stillness. Candle making became my anchor. I fell in love with the process—the warmth of melted beeswax, the careful rhythm of pouring, and the quiet focus it demanded. Each step taught me to slow down, be present, and embrace the beauty of simplicity.
What began as a passion evolved into Slow Burn: a boutique candle company dedicated to crafting the highest-quality beeswax candles that inspire others to find moments of peace and mindfulness in their own lives.
Today, every Slow Burn candle is made by hand in my home studio in St. Paul, MN, using 100% pure beeswax sourced from local, family-run apiaries. I dedicate meticulous attention to every detail—curating artistic molds, rigorously testing wicks, and triple-filtering wax to ensure every candle burns cleanly, drip-free, and beautifully. Each candle is a testament to my commitment to sustainability, artistry, and creating a product that’s as functional as it is beautiful.
Beeswax is nature’s gift—a renewable resource that burns longer and cleaner than any other wax. Its gentle honeyed scent and warm glow create a sanctuary of peace, transforming any space into a place of stillness and reflection. Slow Burn candles are not just products; they are tools for intention and connection, designed for those who value quality, craftsmanship, and authenticity.
Thank you for trusting Slow Burn to bring a sense of calm and mindfulness into your life. My hope is that each candle becomes more than a source of light—it becomes a moment of pause, a reminder to breathe deeply, and a symbol of the beauty that comes when we slow down.
With love and gratitude,
Sara
