Candlelit Reflections: Inside the World of Slow Burn Beeswax Candles
As I sit in my cozy home workshop in St. Paul, MN, surrounded by the gentle hum of beeswax melting and the sweet scent of honey lingering in the air, I can't help but reflect on the journey that led me here. My name is Sara Wait, and I am the sole creator behind Slow Burn, a beeswax candle company dedicated to crafting slow burn candles and supporting local apiaries.

Where does beeswax come from?
Honey bees are among the most diligent and fascinating insects on our planet. Apart from their crucial role in pollination, they are also masterful builders, crafting intricate honeycomb structures from beeswax.

Beeswax is Best
The most common candles you’ll find on the market today are paraffin, soy, beeswax, and often some sort of a blend of these waxes. Here’s my argument for why beeswax is the superior choice when it come to candles.

What is bloom?
Why does my candle look dusty? Beeswax bloom is a natural occurrence that happens to beeswax candles. It is caused by the oils in the beeswax rising to the surface and crystallizing.
