Hi, I'm Sara, Owner and Chandler of Slow Burn candles. I'm passionate about creating products that help people slow down and connect with the present moment.

My candle business started as a mindfulness practice. I was working as a full-time yoga teacher, hustling around town teaching as many classes as I could. I was looking for a way to reduce stress and anxiety in my life and I found that candle making was a very calming and meditative activity. I love the process of creating something beautiful with my own hands and that when doing so, I am forced to slow down and be present in the moment. I also love how a candle can instantly create a mindful environment, bringing a sense of peace and tranquility into a room.

When the COVID-19 pandemic forced us all into lockdown I, like many, found myself out of work. At first I wasn't sure what I was going to do but then it came to me; lean into your candle business. I decided to shift my effort from teaching online yoga to developing Slow Burn, and I'm so glad I did.

Slow Burn has since grown into a thriving business, and I'm so proud of what I've created. I love being able to share my passion for beeswax candles with others, and I love knowing that my candles are helping people to slow down and find peace in their own lives.

My candles are made with 100% beeswax from local, family-run apiaries, and I hand-pour each candle in my home studio. I take great care in selecting artistic molds for my candles and I spend countless hours testing each candle and wick so that I can provide my customers with the cleanest and longest burning candle possible.

My candles are not only beautiful and naturally fragrant from the honey in the beehive, but they also have a positive impact on the environment. Beeswax is a sustainable and renewable resource, and it burns more slowly and cleanly than other types of wax.
